SSAS Testing & Resetting

SSAS Test Mode Procedure

Before performing a test, schedule a test time with the vessel master or crew.

  1. Navigate to the vessel’s 'SSAS & Tracking' tab.
  2. Select the three dots next to the active communicator.
  3. Choose the duration and select Enter Test Mode.

Alternatively, you can:

  1. Navigate to Fleet → SSAS Alerts.
  2. Select the vessel from All Configured Vessels.
  3. Choose the test duration. The following options can be selected
    1. 30 Minutes
    2. 60 Minutes
    3. 90 Minutes
    4. 120 Minutes
  4. Select Enter Test Mode before pressing and initiating any alert buttons.
  5. The Master or crew proceeds to presse the SSAS button onboard.

Additional Information:

  • Only Test Alert Recipients receive notifications during test mode.
  • Test notifications include the word “Test” to distinguish them from live alerts.

Test mode expires automatically after the set duration, or you can manually select Deactivate Test Mode to end early.

Resetting SSAS Alerts

After an SSAS alert is received:

  1. Navigate to Fleet → SSAS Alerts.
  2. Locate the vessel with the active alert.
  3. Select Reset Alert - this will reset the Vessel Status within Podium.

For INM-C terminal types, resetting the alert status in Podium will not be enough. Upon successful testing:

  1. Instruct the crew to reset the alert onboard using the applicable terminal procedure.
  2. Once reset, select Reset Alert in Podium.

For other terminal types, they will not require an onboard reset such as INM-C. All that is required is:

  1. Select Reset Alert in Podium to send a remote reset command.
  2. The alert status clears from all displays after successful reset.
